Week 16 of the North Caledonian Season seen us play against Loch Ness FC at a mutual ground in Alness due to home pitch conditions in an early kick off.
A changed Bonar side from recent weeks due to absences meaning there was 5 players making their debuts for the club. It was good to see some new faces come into the squad against a tough opponent and the squad did well with good effort and commitment for being a much-changed team on the field.
The first half started with the squad doing excellently to keep a strong Loch Ness at bay with good defending making it difficult for the opposition to find time to play.
It was on the 30th Minute the breakthrough came for Loch Ness through a free kick from Allan MacPhee beating the wall and finding the bottom corner.
Loch Ness then on the stroke of Half time found the net again from corner.
In the 2nd Half it started the same as the first, with Bonar Bridge keeping it very tight making it hard for the away team to find that 3rd goal as both teams knew the next goal in the game would decide how the game finished.
Unfortunately, the 3rd and decisive goal went Loch Ness’s way through good play and a neat finish inside the box to find the bottom corner and all but seal the result for Loch Ness. Moments later Loch Ness added a 4th to finish the game 4-0.
Well done to current league leaders Loch Ness and we wish you the best for the rest of the season.
For Bonar it was a good performance against a very strong side and reigning champions. Well done to the whole squad and 5 players making their debut. Hopefully as the new players come into the squad and more game time, we will continue to build on the good squad that is together already.
Man of the Match for Bonar was split between Robbie Breen and Jack Corbett who both played well in defense against the constant Loch Ness Pressure throughout.
