Week 11 of the Macleod & Maccallum North Caledonian Season seen us face league leaders Halkirk United FC at Migdale Park in what was always going to be a tough battle against a good side. The visitors were going into the game having not conceded in there last 5 straight wins, but the home side looked to challenge in what was always going to be tough game.
Early in the game Bonar took the lead through a Penalty after a strong run from James Macleod in the box before he was fouled followed by a calm finish by Bruce Urquhart. Halkirk responded on the 19th minute with a penalty of there own after a handball in the box seen Jonah Martens level the scoring.
It was a close encounter between the teams until just after the half an hour mark where Cameron Montgomery put the visitors ahead on the 33rd minute. Bonar now looking for half time trying to soak up the Halkirk pressure on the defense, with Halkirk increasing their lead just before half time through Aaron Wilson.
Bonar came out of half time knowing it would be an uphill struggle. Halkirk increased there advantage just after 60 minutes through James Mackintosh after a long freekick was floated in before it was headed out reach of Innes Mason in the Bonar Goal.
Connor Ross brought one back for the home side on the 80th minute finding himself one on one before he slotted the goal round the keeper to give the home side some hope with 10 minutes to go. 2-4.
It however showed there dominance and regained there 3 goal lead on the 81st minute after good football from Halkirk found Mark Munro alone in the box before he fired home. The game finished with Halkirk scoring the final goal of the game on the 84th minute with a splitting ball through to Innes Mackintosh who calmly finished into the bottom corner to round off the win for the visitors.
A deserved win for Halkirk United FC with Bonar showing there quality in spells against one of the leagues best.
