Week 5 of the season seen us return to league action away from home against Invergordon FC in windy conditions.
The game started in the worst possible way for Bonar, with an early goal for Invergordon coming from down the left hand side before a good ball was delivered in and finished by Cameron Mackintosh within the 1st minute of the game.
Bonar responded well though with an attack on the Invergordon Defense. A ball in to the the box from wide fell to Bruce Urquhart on the 3rd Minute of the game before he smashed home inside the far post to level the game. Invergordon had the wind advantage in the first half and this showed with a number of attacks but the Bonar defense was holding well to keep the game level.
A looping cross and a scramble in the Bonar Box which looked a foul that wasn’t given the ball found its way in at the back post leaving Rory Maclean in the Bonar Bridge Goal no chance. 2-1 to the hosts. Invergordon found themselves 3-1 ahead shortly after and the ball fell to Callum Brown on the 22nd minute before he slotted the ball into the net.
The first half finished with Invergordon attacks coming in numbers however the visitors had chances to get back into the game with Alex Mackenzie finding himself in behind the Invergordon defense but unfortunately chances came and went for Bonar. Bonar’s Defense held strong to give the visitors a chance in the second half and hold the scoreline within touching distance.
The second half started with Bonar now having the wind advantage but Invergordon were strong in defense stopping any early chance of Bonar getting back into the game. Invergordon increased there lead on the 59th minute through Paul Smith picking up the ball on the edge of the box before finishing well.
The game finished with chances coming and going for Bonar & against play Invergordon got there 5th of the game through Ben Bruce reacting quickest on the 83rd minute to seal the win for Invergordon.
A tough game for the visitors, however Invergordon showed there ability and deserved winners overall.
