Week 23 of the North Caledonian Season seen us play against Alness United FC away from home at Dalmore Park Astro in our second meeting of the season.
It was Alness who started the game better of the two halves applying pressure to the Bonar Defence from the first whistle. Chances for both teams in the early minutes of the game but it was Alness who got the first goal of the game on the 8th minute after breaking away on the break from a Bonar attack where a long ball found Joes Burnett who gave the home side the advantage.
Bonar took time to come into the game struggling to get a hold of the game, and Alness found themselves 2-0 up through Luke Mackay on the 21st minute.
Bonar started to find possession and create chances through Connell Gresham, but didn’t manage to make a break the Alness defence until late on in the half where Jack Corbett was first to react to a loose ball in the box to take us back into the game. 2-1. The Half finished with another close Bonar effort with Connell Gresham hitting the bar on the stroke of half time.
The second half started and it was Bonar who started well from the whistle looking to level the game. Early chances through Bruce Urquhart & Connell Gresham came close but unfortunately we find the net. Against the run of play in the half, Alness broke and regained there two goal lead through Chris Graham on the 50 minute mark. A poor goal to concede for the away team.
The game finished with chances for both teams, with Bonar unfortunate not to get a goal back earlier in the second half to have a allow time to get something out the game. Aiden Stainke got himself on the score sheet after a determining run let him put the ball in the net on the 89th minute but unfortunately it was just to late for Bonar to get an equaliser.
The final score finished 3-2 to Alness United with the home side taking there chances better in the game. A better second half performance from the away side and with some more time could have got an important 3rd goal to get something out the game. Thanks to Alness United for the game and all the best for the remainder of the season.
Man of the Match for Bonar was Innes Mason who made important saves throughout to keep us in the game playing only his 2nd game for the club.
