Week 20 of the North Caledonian Season seen us travel away from home to play former Highland League Club, Fort William FC, with the game being played at Lochaber High School Astro pitch due to storm damage at Claggan Park.
The first thirty minutes there was chances for both teams to take the lead, however it was Fort William who struck first on the 30th Minute after a deep corner was found by Michael Rodgers at the back post. Shortly after the goal we were denied what looked to be a stone wall penalty which at half time referee Hector Cormack said he couldn’t clearly see due to the bright conditions which wouldn’t be argued.
Just before half time after a considerable amount of added time, Fort William found themselves 2-0 ahead through Martin Munro after breaking from a Bonar Corner. Heart Break for Bonar as they have gone into the break 2-0 down instead of possibly 1-1.
Bonar came out in the second half looking to get the first goal with end to end football on display from both teams, but unfortunately it was Fort William who made it 3-0 on the 61st minute through Andy Mclean. Fort William then all but secured the win on the 70th minute via Andrew Sneddon.
Bonar never let the heads drop and continued pushing, with the reward coming on the 80th minute through the goal of the game from new signing Connell Gresham coming on from the bench to cut in from the left side and firing home into the top corner.
The final score finished 4-1 with Fort William being the better team on the day but the whole Bonar squad gave 100% effort throughout with an excellent Goal Scored through Connell who looks a good signing.
Man of the Match for Bonar was Josh Sands who ran tirelessly up front for the game causing the Fort William defense problems throughout.
